Getting the PS3 Update

There is a PS3 update available through Sony's website. The most recent update is number 2.53 and is available by download. This update comes after version 2.50 and 2.52. Even though the PS3 is capable of connecting to the web and downloading the update itself you can also download the update through your regular PC by using a portable USB drive to download. Inside Sony's knowledge center you can learn whether or not your version of the system is backwards compatible including other things like getting service or troubleshooting.
