The Difference the PS3 Being Released Made

When the PS3 was first released there was a lot of talk about how advance the system was. There have been several super-computers built with connecting PS3 systems; over-priced computers if I may add. However the PS3 being released did not affect much of the computer market like Sony had expected. Some of that is of course to their lame marketing strategy on top of their compulsive lying CEO. Did anyone ever explain their claim to 4-D graphics? Is someone suppose to step out of the flat television screen and slap you for believing a system could offer 4-D graphics or is that the job of your significant other?
